Professor Paul Bowman has a diverse Martial Arts career spanning over 62 years, he began training under Sensei Harada in the art of Shotokai Karate in 1964. He advanced his skillset under legendary JKA instructors Sensei Enoeda and Sensei Kanazawa in 1973. He travelled to Japan to grade for his 5th Dan (under Sensei's Yaguchi and Ukei) in 1987 and later he graded for his 6th Dan (under Sensei's Osaka and Tabata) in 1992.

​The transition to DKI Paul Bowman met Professor George Dillman (the pioneer who brought Okinawan pressure points fighting to the Western world). Integrating Dillman`s revolutionary vital-point teachings completely shifted Paul Bowman's approach, transitioning his traditional Karate style into the devastating system known today as Zendoryu Martial Arts.
